A refreshed brand identity and new brand campaign for the historical market located in downtown Atlanta.

For one semester, my group (Michelle Altine, Connor Dickson, Liora Rodney, and Ashton Westfall) were tasked with helping the Atlanta Municipal Market develop a refreshed brand identity along with a full brand campaign. The Market wanted an updated look that still respected its longtime customers, while also appealing to a younger, more modern audience. Taking this into account, we explored the Market’s history and community impact, then translated those insights into more contemporary logo designs and brand elements. Our goal was to balance honoring the Market’s roots while giving it a fresh, relevant presence that could attract new visitors.

Branding Deliverables

After we finalized the branding guide, we started to work on the branding campaign titled “Rooted in Atlanta”. Our goal is to celebrate Atlanta Municipal Market as a true Atlanta staple by highlighting its deep community roots, rich history, and the people and businesses that make it special. Through friendly, informative storytelling, the focus is on longtime vendors, locally sourced food and produce, loyal customers, and the Market’s vibrant past, while showing what sets it apart. Visually, illustrated elements layered into real photos help bring these stories to life and showcase the variety and significance of everything the Market has to offer.
