I was tasked to create an animated clip for a radio show that was a part of Georgia State University’s student run radio station: Album 88. The radio show, 88 Bit Trip, plays all kinds of music associated with video games, but the client stated that they enjoyed the 8-bit aesthethic the most and requested that the animation I create replicates this.
I was heavily inspired by the “Game Start” screens that are in more pixel-like retro styles, and the idea of the animation occuring in something handheld like a video game console. The client mentioned wanting “..visually dark elements could be incorporated, but then have very brightly colored chiptune and video game elements incorporated with that...”
